First bit.

When considering a topic for this writing project (a.k.a. my first blog) I selected a rather common subject matter: my cats. Not that my cats are common to anyone but me, but writing about your pets has got to be a popular blog topic, second only to blogs about people's children. Meow Muse is going to highlight the tails and tales of two incredibly loving, furry beasts who would do anything for me. Sort of. Of course my hope is that what I record here may provide a more unique experience for the reader. How many other cats have battled for the top level on tiered carpet furniture aptly named The Hotel? Swallowed a 7-inch piece of yarn? Figured out how to open a mirrored closet door and chew away at the clothing items hanging inside? A-HA! I must have captured your interest there! The reality is these cats have given me a lot of juicy stories to share. I'd love to consider myself the Dave Eggers of the animal world but given the above references we may be hinting more towards a trashy Hollywood beach novel. So pull out your towel and shades and a order a margarita. And maybe keep a lint brush close by to catch any flying fur.
